07 FXD Its 4 months now with 6300 miles and no problems. All checkups have been done and fluid changes. Once in a while the ignition switch will stick, but moving the front wheel will make it work. So far the ride and the smile are still intact. My only complaint is that weather, work, and hunting seasons are going to limit my riding until I store it for winter. Snow is not the problem but road salt is. [:@]Have to take it one day at a time and enjoy the ride when it happens.
I will just say my 2006 SuperGlide was one of the first 13,000 or so built. Anyone with one of these knows the score.
I think HD hired sober assemblers after that.
Fork lock broke day one or two other than that I had horrific decel backfiring but that was on me, Thunderheader,SE filter and DFO was not a good combo for me.Once I tossed the DFO and had it tuned on a Dyno with a SERT all was well.
Have an '05. At about 18,000 had to have valve guide seals replaced. Just had cam tensioners replaced at 49,000 last month. Other than regular maintinance. and a couple of worn out tires, there are no problems. It runs great and does not use a drop of oil. Extended warranty coverd tensioners and I plan on putting another 50,000 miles on it before the ext. warranty runs out 01/10.
10,000+ trouble free miles and counting on my late model '06 Street Bob. Just normal maintenance (1K, 5K, 10K) and a new rear tire (wide 180) when the original wore out. I'm thinking of going w/Avons or Metzelers next.

I love my Harley, none the less.

LOL!! yeah,me too.... Cracked handlebar, cracked fender. blah blah blah. To be honest though, I think I have replaced all the quirks under warranty. the bike runs great, and like DD, I love my bike, and will be keeping it for a long time. Only thing that worries me now is the primary bearing.....I will cross that bridge when I get there! I kind of expected a few "growing pains" buying an early model with all the changes. But I got the bike I wanted so its all good. Hell, all the warranty upgrades its practically an 07with an 88!
