Default 2007 or 2008 Screaming Eagle FXDSE

I went to a local dealer nearby to where I work and looked at the new 2008 FXDSE Screaming Eagle and I personally prefer the 2007 over the new 2008. I like the seat, paint, handlebars, grips/pegs etc on the 2007 but I like the wheels on the 2008. I think if I were to get one I'd search for a 2007 model. what do you guys/gals think?

Looks like they have cut some production cost on the 2008/ I like the 07 better but I would kick the 08 out of bed for eating crackers.

I like the battery cover on the 08 better. Is the speedo on the tank on the '08? That's a nice change.

I know where you can find a 07 without looking hard. The dealer I bought my bike from had one on the floor when I got my fxdc in november of 06. I was in there this past Saturday - it's still there.

The dealer I went to today had a 2007 model but they had the red one, I like the silver/blue model myself. oh and yes the 2008 model has the speedo on the tank but the tach is still on the bars. they bars on the 2008 look like the bars on a softail standard, I definitely think HD tried saving a few bucks here and there.

Do your homework on the 110 cubic inch motors before making the $25K leap...

bpalmer is correct... the 110 motors are supposidly having all kinds of problems... oil leaks, bad gaskets, bad tooling work from the factory etc... what a pain in the d1ck.. (not to hijack, but i read where you are preparing a class action bpalmer is that correct?... has the MoCo owned up to fixing or rectifying any of these issues for al of you CVO owners? please update us here in the Dyna forums on your progress... I as well as many others here would and will be pretty curious to see how this turns out..

However on a lighter note on the differences between the 2..

The 07 in the pictures has the roadwinder wheel... I rode an 07 and loved it.. much better than my Lowrider even... The SE seat rocked and didnt kill my a$$like my LR seat dose.. HD did "shave' some corners cosmetically between the 2 bikes with the 07 getting the better looking asthetic"goodies" with a better looking and inclusive'dashinator" IMO.. better looking pullbacks / bars ... HD also cheaped out and went with a standard looking Lowrider seat... than say the SE seat.. (now an upgrade I suppose)

Both of them still have the $hitty sounding new version SE pipes.. (those would be deposited in the nearest landfill or made into something more useful as they are crap for Harley exhaust pipes) but overall the 07 (sans the wheels.. I like the 08 wheels better) looks better and possess' higher end parts for a better overall fit and finish...

for 25 large I'd go with the 07.

If I am buying a Screamin Eagle.. I am not here for the customization game (unless its in the power plant or maybe throwing on a windshield) I dont care about changing out dashes or speedos or seats or any such da^^n thing else.. thats supposed to have already been taken care of.. (greedy sobs) [:@]

Btw 07 fxdc where are you? and what does that stealer want for that 07 SE??

I'm in eastern NC and the dealer is in Rocky Mount, NC. I don't know what they currently want for the SE dyna they have because I stopped looking at it months ago. I still see it everytime I go in there but I don't pay that much attention to it. I remember commenting to one of the guys there a couple of months ago about it still being there - his reply - "yes, this is our LAST 07 SE in stock!" as if they'd had a hundred of them and I better buy that one NOW if I wanted one. All the while, I know it's the same physical bike that was there back in Nov of last year when I bought my FXDC.

Not sure what they are asking for it but they should be willing to give a DEAL by now.
