It's the bars, you can try moving them around, adding a bar snake, even filling them with shot. But most liketly you need a different style of bars this was one of the first things I changed on my Street Bob try some flat track bars.

Go to the ISO grips and the problems will stop. They absorb the vibrations from the bars. I have a 06 Bob and this helped me. I paid 65.00 for mine and 10.00 to get them put on, You will love them.

Youngsters are not prone to having this wrist and hand problems, but age kinda grows on you..... and before you know ityou have to start thinking of finding ways to release the strain on most parts of your body. Hands are one of those parts that suffer most. I have already commented in this forum to someone with apehangers and fingers going numb that perhaps he should start thinking of changing his bars, just like SPECIAL ED recommends, but I guess that some will not change till the pleasure of a ride changes into a painful experience. I have verymild arthritis and my hands complain a lot when I do long rides; that was one of the reasons I chose the FXDC, due to the rather low bars that allow my hands to get all the blood they need. I don't suffer from any of those numb fingers or anthing of that sort, but I do miss that little gadget Kuryakyn has to fit on the throttle grip, so instead of maintaining the twist effort with your wrist, you just thest the rear of your palm on this little trigger like lug and maintain the throttle open without any effort from your hand or wrist. Don't want the Kuryakyn I had on my VTX (they felt weird with all those rubber "lumps", but there might be other optionssuch as a c-clamp type that can fin any grip; I now have the Aileron type...

As many have said, it could be several things. Do you ride with a windshield? I rarely do but when I do it makes me realize how much harder I'm holding on without it because of the extra wind pressure on my upper body. Makes my hands get numb or so a lot faster - especially my throttle hand. A throttle boss might help if that is the issue. I just changed bars on my bike and am thinking that will help with a lot of discomfort issues on long rides as the stock bars just never felt natural to me. Now my arms are almost straight out from my body and my wrists are at a normal slight angle in relation to my arms instead of being bent more for a long period of time. Time will tell on that. A lot of people love the ISO grips for vibration. I have the ISO pegs and it really does help in the feet/legs. But, there are plenty of handgrips out there that have at least a little rubberizing and/or neoprenish type material that should dampen the vibrations a little if you don't particularly like the ISO grips. I like the way the ISO grips feel and even look on certain bikes. But I slid some on mine yesterday and didn't really care for how they looked on my bike.

Like others said,it probably has a lot to do withholding onto the grips too tightly...on longer rides and less intense roads I use the throttle lock a lot, allowing me to ride witheither hand intermittantly...also,I keep my fingerson the clutch/brake levers and my thumb ,on one hand or the other, on TOP of the grip...works for me....oh yeah...gloves suck....they obviously werent meant to be worn with fingers bent for any extended period...

I get the same thing, but only on the middle finger of my left hand. Whenever I extend the finger to show someone where it tingles, they get all mad at me.

I'm going to change the bars and grips before I get into more trouble.

What I find that helps if I can't take a hand off of the bar is to squeeze the hand grip and then loosen pointing my fingers straight out. Do that several times just to get some blood flow. It's a good temp. fix until you can relax and drop your hands...one at a time ofcourse!
