Motorcycle Jack - Which One for FXDC Dyna Super Glide?
I need to purchase a motorcycle jack for my 2007 FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom. Several maintenance procedures require that the motorcycle be vertical, not on the side-stand, and a good motorcycle jack will be far safer than putting a 2x6 under the side stand.
Can anyone recommend a good motorcycle jack to me? I know that Sears has one for $90, butI have not heard many good things about it'sdurability and also that some sort of adapter is needed to use it on a Dyna.

I'm not sure but I think you will need the dyna lift kit regardless of the jack you choose. PM hd forum member KlrBob, he just bought a lift and the dyna kit for the wheel swap we did. I am actually on my way to sears to look at lifts... spooky.
RE: Motorcycle Jack - Which One for FXDC Dyna Super Glide?
Get the sears yellow jack, I have the red one ($90) and it's not
that stable. The yellow one ($139) is much better from what I've
heard on this forum. The lift adapter kit is only $20 from Harley
and works great.

I just bought a J&S. I wanted a jack that didn't need Dyna adapters and that I could use without help. Rolls right under and lifts perfectly. Bike gently tilts vertically off the stand as you raise the bike, then gently tilts back overon the stand as it is lowered. Very easy, one person operation. I can move the bike around the garage effortlessly. I love it. More $$ than the Sears though.

Clark,
I just went to Sears a few hours ago. I have also looked at their website. The only motorcycle jack Sears lists is the "red" one for $90. I have heard a lot of bad things about it. I see other jacks listed on the Sears website, but they are regular automotive floor jacks with the automotive saddle. I do not see either at Sears or on Sears' website, a yellow colored motorcycle jack. Do you have a SKU number for this "yellow" jack?
Regarding the J&S jack, I think this is the Cadillac of motorcycle jacks out there. It is $319 plus tax and shipping. However, one thing I've learned in my 52 years is that you quite often get what you pay for.

The Sears yellow is nice - $169. Can often be found for $149 - but never seen it less that that (maybe if you belong to their tool club you can get it for $139?)
RE: Motorcycle Jack - Which One for FXDC Dyna Super Glide?
I just got back from sears myself. They only had the yellow jack for $160. No red jack. Is the red jack that bad? I guess the yellow jack pays for itself after two and a half hours of use (service cost at dealer/indie), but sheesh money is tight. I was hoping to get ol' red, but if its a piece of crap than forget it!
RE: Motorcycle Jack - Which One for FXDC Dyna Super Glide?
I've read both good and bad reviews on the Sears red jack. It seems like the quality of the jack bottle isn't consistent, and they tend to leak sometimes. Remember you'll have to buy adapters for the Dyna (about $20, I think). Dealer has them.

Richard...
Richard, there is a BIG difference between the red and yellow.
the Sears *yellow* is a really nice piece of equipment. Get the JandS if you have the extra bux.
The yellowsears does have a weak link. I will elaborate if you are interested.
The HD adapters do not last forever, however, they do perform well for quite awhile. See last picture. (delaminating)
If you take a lot of weight off one end or the other, support the heavy end. Steal a milk carton or something.
