Thanks man. Oh best advice I can give you is buy the service manual. You'll save yourself a TON of money
Ahhhhh, yes. I just found one on eBay today as a matter-of-fact. Didn't buy it yet, but I will. I'm no mechanic, but I don't mind doing smaller jobs that are easy to understand.
RE: Tell me everything about this '92 SuperGlide Custom...
I just looked in an HD history book and it said the FXDC Super Glide Custom was introduced in 1992 with the black and silver color scheme. Pretty cool. Apparently, it's the same thing as the "Daytona" model, but with a different paint job and the motor isn't painted on on the FXDC. Something like that.
The dealer did tell me this was the first year for the FXDC and it seems he was right. That's kinda cool, I guess. The book doesn't go on to talk about the FXDC past that one statement in '92.
About the seat, I assume I'd need to find a seat that is specifically made for an FXDC for this year, right? Do the lowrider seats or SuperGlide seats from other years fit?

I think I answered my own question about the seats. Looks like '91-'95 DynaGlides used the same seats, but they were different before and after that? Something like that.

Even for riding 2-up, I'd still get another more lower-profile 2-up seat that goes with the natural lines of the bike more. Is that even the original stock seat?
The service guy did tell me that it's the stock seat, which according to him, you don't see very often. I agree the seat is a little cheesy looking... I'm sure I'll end up doing something about that at some point. I can't believe I'm already putting together a list of things to upgrade, but I am. Some ideas are billet grips like in the pic below.
Also wanting to put on a chrome tank dash and leather tank panel. I think that alone would add quite a bit to the looks.
The seat looks great - the EVO FX was (and still is)an awesome looking bike; very classy! Does look like you could use some shorter cables; pretty sure that bike came with buckhorn bars (which might explain the extra cable length).

Cool, thanks man. Yeah, those cables to hang out quite a bit, don't they? I wonder if it's easy to change those out/shorten themmyself? I'll check that out when I get the bike at home.
I'm so freaking excited about this. I'm going out of my mind not having that bike at home to mess around with. I'm going to get my permit this Saturday and hope to have the bike delivered next week. I have someone lined up to go out with me to show me the ropes and there's a huge parking lot 4-5 blocks from my home.
Come on people, give me that darn bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One bit of advise on EVO engines. The caged cam bearing is a weak point and if it hasn't been changed out it should be changed to a Torrington roller bearing.
Since the cam has to come out to change it, this would be the time to put in an aftermarket cam. Something along the lines of an Andrews EV3 for a light bike like the Lowrider. The cam along with the Stage 1 that you already have, and a little carb tuning, and your bike will run with any new stock 96'. the cam should be around 200.00 with new adjustable pushrods.
The bike you have is a great machine, and with proper maintainance, will give you years of good service.
