If you go back to the buckhorn style handle bar it will take up some of that slack in your cables.
Your battery charger connectors will come in very handy. And not just for wintertime; keep a full charge on your battery all of the time or you may get stranded.
I am not sure about your seat question.I was told that mine was stock original, but I may have been given bad info. Regardless, it is really comfortable for my *** and I love it.

Thanks for all of the info. I really appreciate it!
Your seat does look to be the stock one, it's the same as the Sturgis/Daytona models that came out in '91 and '92 respectively. I've never seen an FXDC with those bars as stock though, almost all of the early Dynas had buckhorn style bars. Consider yourself ahead of the game, as the buckhorns are some of the most uncomfortable H-D ever used, and they usd them for years. Kepp the ones you have for awhile before you go changing them or the cables. It gets expensive to shorten/lengthen cables to accomodate new bars. The wife wanted apes puton her Sporty and it cost $800 parts/labor to go with stainless ones the right length.
I've been watching eBay closely for a nice 2 up seat for a 91-95 Dyna. I see some, but not really the style I'm after. Hmmm... I suppose should post a "wanted" ad here on the forum.

The Mustang would be a great choice- good looks and they're comfortable. My brothers both have them on their bikes and would never switch, they have told me.
I noticed on an earlier post someone suggested you have the cam bearing replaced to the Torrington type at some point. That would definitely be something to do. The '92s had numerous bearing failures back then and if the bearing fails, you're looking at an engine rebuild. My brother had it happen to him at Bike Week in '94. While they are in there, have them check your tappets for wear too. They usually last for about 30k in an Evo but it would be worth checking out. It will cost you a couple hundred bucks in labor but if you do it, you could also have cam and pushrods replaced at the same time, they'll be in there anyway so it's a good time to do it. A new cam will wake the motor up a bit and make future upgrades (like a carb) give you performance you'll feel. You already have the pipes, so you have a head start.
I saw the diarrhea thing on a t-shirt and just died laughing. If I ever find one, it's mine. Guaranteed to keep people away from you in a crowd..LOL!!
