Tell me everything about this '92 SuperGlide Custom...
One bit of advise on EVO engines. The caged cam bearing is a weak point and if it hasn't been changed out it should be changed to a Torrington roller bearing.
Since the cam has to come out to change it, this would be the time to put in an aftermarket cam. Something along the lines of an Andrews EV3 for a light bike like the Lowrider. The cam along with the Stage 1 that you already have, and a little carb tuning, and your bike will run with any new stock 96'. the cam should be around 200.00 with new adjustable pushrods.
The bike you have is a great machine, and with proper maintainance, will give you years of good service.
Congratulations on a pretty rare find.

You will want to change the seat, as it's not worth a s*** for two-up riding. Mine lasted less than a year on the bike although I still have it. I have over 80,000 miles on mine and after 14 yrs. wouldn't have another bike to replace it. If you decide to upgrade the performance, I would suggest a Mikuni HSR42 carb, Andrews EV-3 or EV-27 cam and adjustable pushrods to start with. You have dual discs up front and they work great, I have never seen the need to replace them. I did replace the rear with a PM years back though.
Good luck with it, it's a rare bike.
P.S. remember seats that your bike will take anything for FXDs from '91 to '95. In 1996 the frame design changed and seats for 96+ won't fit your bike. You mention getting a permit soon. Consider taking a rider course taught by pros or a biker organization in your state. Learning from friends is fine but no substitute for a real course that will teach you stuff you don't want to learn the hard way.
It is indeed an FXDC, as I have a model similar to it in the FXDBD Daytona version, which is essentially identical, except for the paint scheme. You have a later version, as the original ones had a silver painted frame, which proved defective and HD later switched to a different paint that bonded better to the metal. The silver painted oneswere famous for chipping and peeling frame paint. The '92s were made during a strike year at H-D, so many folks will tell you they are "sabotaged" but that's b.s. in my book. Like others have said, change the oil regularly, keep it clean and you will be fine.

I actually just found a solo and a 2 up seat from the same seller on eBay that he took off a '95 LowRider. We both think the seats would fit my FXDC and you're confirming that. They're not real fancy seats, but I think I'll buy them both anyway. Here they are:

Any thoughts on those seats?

you just missed this Corbin Gunfighter (so did I).

I tried the Badlander from H-D at one time. It was okay, as it was a bit wider than the LePera, and it had a minimal passenger section. Unless your wife is under 5'5" and less than 110 lbs., I'd stay away from it for long rides. The other one is a HD seat that looks like a decent two-up model and the price is right, so maybe it's worth a shot?
So, what am I saying? I guess I'd consider the LePera for riding solo and maybe keep the stock seat for when you have someone along with you. It's only seconds to change the seat (one screw) so you may want to live with it that way. I love solo look on my bike (see photo) and the wife rides her own bike so I've left it solo seat only. The seat is a Danny Gray I had him make me about seven years ago. It's a long seat, which allows for moving around a bit on a long ride and there's some modest lower back support. This was custom made but I know he has a model now that's similar called the Badger, I think. You should check his stuff out, he makes great seats.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
The first one is a LePera Bare Bones solo. I had one for years and they look cooler on this biked than most other seats. Downside is it'sa butt-pounder and that's why after six years of putting up with it I sold it and got something else. If you plan on riding locally mostly, that seat is fine for trips under 100 miles. After that, you'll wish you had something else or a least a new *** to put on it.

I think I'll just shoot for a nicer 2 up seat and call it a day. That stock HD 2 up I linked to doesn't look bad and it sure is cheap. I'm not a big fan of the studs on it, but hmmm... I'm positive it would look nicer than the stock seat on my bike.
