I just installed a memphis shade slim with the newly released quick release hardware. The new hardware does not require a tool to remove the windshield, which is very nice. After I initially installed the shield I was not happy at all with how the windshield sat. It was very similar to the hd shield which sticks out. Even though the hardware allows you to adjust the bottom and top about 1 inch, I still could not get it to look right. What I did to resolve this was mount the upper clamps backwards, which in effect pulled the entire shield in about an inch. The directions warned not to do this because it will damage the gas tank. I had no problems with the clamp hitting the tank. It would probably be a problem in I had the 2" tank lift installed, but I had to remove that because the forks were hitting. The test ride was good. Very little buffeting. Much less than the sport shield I had before.
That looks pretty slick. Where did you find the new hardware kit? I've heard they were going to come out with the tool-less kit, but haven't seen it anywhere...not even on their website.
The memphis shades website was just updated a couple weeks ago. The new part numbers are out there. A lot of the retail websites still show the old part numbers. Purchased mine through http://www.motorcycleproshop.com I had to call them to get the new one.
