Default WG with canvas crashbar covers?

I really miss the "elephant ears" ( canvas lowers) I had on my FLHT crash bars. I'm thinking about putting a set of bars on my '07 WG, just to have the lower covers for wind protection in the cold. I think the bars look out of place on the bike but if works... Anyone have this setup? If so, any change in buffeting with the windshield? Thanks in advance.

I have the engine guard on my bike, I wouldnt mind knowing more about covers, I have seen them but never found any.
I'd love some input.

Seems like they'd have a parachute effect. Chaps take care of the cold for me. Otherwise, the wind is just part of the experience.

Apair of leather chaps would keep you warmer.

I rode 600 miles (round trip) in 19-degree temps for a PGR mission back in November. 19 degrees at 70MPH is hella cold! As miserable as I was, I still had a better day than the family we rode for. Texas is known for heat, but in the northern art of the state, it gets pretty damn cold with the wind and humidity.

I was up in Winnipeg that same month where it was -24 and there were still people riding. Made my 19 degree day seem like a day at the beach.
