Anyone have either of these seats? My girlfriend and I cruise around on a stock fxdc seat, and while I'm fine with it, she doesn't like the lack of comfort. I was looking at the squareback because it's not as "puffy" as the sundowner, but still has a wide passenger area. Also, I usually don't go any further than 70 miles (140 miles round trip) with her... would the daytripper be enough seat? How much better would the squareback be? Does the sundowner kick the two mustang seat's a$$es for comfort? Thanks for any info.

I've tried both on a Dyna. I currently have a squareback and my partner at work has a day tripper - both on FXDBIs. The daytripper is just that; his girlfriend does not like it and he complains it hurts after about an hour of riding. I like the abilty to move/wiggle around on the daytripper myself.
My squareback is the best seat I've ever had on any bike so far ( 10 since '78), I like tha back support and the general look of the seat. The passanger pad is not very big though; no more than 8" wide. My wife does not ride with me much anymore but when she does, she complains about the lack of padding.
I keep telling her maybe it's not the seat... LOL. Kim is beeching after about 15 mins !! She no biker mama. trust me on this one !!

Let us know what you find, I have the Sundowner now also, very comfy for both me and my wife, but that puffy look bugs me too. I've been checking out the LePera Maverick and Silouette. You might want to have a look at those too.
I've got the daytripper. For me, mine is very comfortable. Being narrow in the front makes it easier on my legs. I don't like the way the stock seat "spread" my legs, very uncomfortable. No problem going 400-500 miles in a day. Prior to this bike I had one on a 2005 Sportster and liked it as well. The passenger portion is another story. Neither one of my girls (11 and 14 years old) will go more than around the block on it. It hurts their fannies.
More comfort for me would be a bonus but it's the backseat I'm concerned with. I would love to have a sundowner, but I just can't stomach the look. If it was just me on the bike, I'd sit on a brick if the bike looked better. But I want my girlfriend to be comfortable. I thought the squareback was designed to be a good two-up seat. Not a tourer... but not a "daytripper" either.?.
