Buy it new and make it yours . after my 1000 mi service the dealer told me just do not go unto the case halfs. I put SE11 pipes Arlen Ness air cleaner and a Rev Tech Fuel optimizer. That was just to get the bike to run and sound like a Harley.JMO
I have already decided that it will be an 08 superglide not an 07 due to the price decrease and I am still into my favorite Harley... the Wideglide.
True... but they are charging list for the "08. I got a $2200 discount on my 2007. So I got my 07 WG for the price of "your" 08 SG in South Florida.
yeah.. rub it in. haha best I've seen on the 07 leftovers is 1k around here and there does not seem to be too much to be had.
have not contacted dealers out of tampa bay on this though. The 08 wideglide is like 5k more than the superglide (4k than the custom).according to my handy brochure here. The wideglide is actually only listed as available in the duracell anniversary colors??.
I would never post an e-bay link, but I have a connection with this guy Dustin. I bought my 05' from him. FYI, the reserve price is $12,200. I know this because I just got off the phone with him.
An 06' Wide Glide with 5k miles for $12,200... Kind of hard to beat that...
Damn Baeseman1 - we have good taste in bikes, eh? I say go for the WG too, but I'm partial...
Where did you get your POW/MIA derby cover? I love that.
As long as wire wheels need not be a concern or the 15-19k miles on the bike already then i would rather have the wideglide. They seem to need nothing but me riding it. the new FXD does need foward controls and two up seating with a backrest for pax just to start. Yet warranty.. no miles.. alloys not wires. this is the dillema.
Where did you get your POW/MIA derby cover? I love that.
My dad has a place in WI ( where I'm from )that does engraving and etching. He had his derby cover etched, but I got my hands on it before he got the chance to install it. So I sent him mine so he could have it etched. Yeah, he has to pay twice to have an etched derby cover for his bike...
If you like the derby, you would like my dads gas cap. It's etched in the shape of a hand giving the middle finger...
Look for a 06 or newer Wide Glide that fits in your budget you wont be sorry.. Maybe wait till end of Dec or Jan...
If I have this right... 06 HD upgraded the frame and went to a 6 speed. Then in 07 they added the 96ci engine as well.
Is that the reason for this recommendation? Sounds like these improvements make a good bit of difference from what most everyone is saying here.
I can understand winter being the best time of year to buy in the snow states but down here in Florida I think is is prime riding time like the rest of the countries spring and fall. Not disagreeing with you here just wondering outloud if in fact prices will drop here in Florida the way they may elsewhere. Sure someone can verify this who does reside down here. Oh Trotter if you do live down here then sorry and I trust what your saying just did not know.
Many years in Treasure Island / Johns Pass/ Madeira beach... But around Christmas or first of the year alot of debt and Tax time coming...The Impulse, garaged bikes hit the papers..
Spoke wheels are no concern. I would buy the bike I realy wanted. Sounds like you truely want the Wide Glide.
I would not be afraid of the mileage either.
