new to the forums and would like some imput to help me decide.. I got the approval (from wife)for a new big twin harley and am not sure what to do. My cash budget is set and I am at a stalemate as to what to get. My choices as I see it are a new 07 leftover superglide or an 01-03 wideglide. They will both end up about the same on the bottom line. I do like the lines of the wideglide best, but, the security of buying new instead of used is gone. What does everyone thing? your insite into the matter will help. The wide glide choices are bikes around 15-19k in mileage and look really good.
Go for the '07 - you get the 96 ci engine, fuel injection, the 6 speed transmission, the much beefier frame, 1" axles, 49mm forks, wider rear tire plus the 2 year warranty. Sorry to the WG owners but a much better handling bike as well- IMHO
wow 100% for the 07 this I did not expect but good to hear. I have not rode in almost 10 years so I'll be taking a safety course next week (all signed up) and get my bike first week of november. I actually just found an 07 used streetbob with like 3k that I have my eye on now as well. Should I be concerned about the tubes in the tires or do most of you think that is unwarranted worry.
( my actual main concern with the used wide glides)I can wrench myself, but, don't know about changing tubes out there on the road (if it can be done). Also this will be my 1st Harley.
I was on another post and just found out the 08 are less expensive than the 07 so I will get an 08 I suppose (black is my favorite color anyways)... The 07 leftover is 1k less than new 07 price(it's pewter pearl) . Not actually a good deal it seems. Now I see why y'all call em stealers.
