Reflectors gone - a bitch to get the goo off. Downtube idiot sticker gone - came right off using my fingernail - no hairdryer or goo-gone necessary. Idiot sticker on the top of the football - gone. I think I'll leave the VIN stickers. "Chicken straps" on my 2 up seats- don't need them - that's why I have built-on lovehandles and it makes the seats easier to change.
Some here have called them "cheesy" but I think my favorite cheap mod is my chrome flame magnets on the tank - 10 bucks for the pair.
Oh yeah, I forgot I got all the stickers off... all of them. Only goo left is a little on the A/C cover, which needs to come off, but I'm alsways a little worried about hurting it...
I wouldn't call 'em cheezy, 2007fxdc. In fact from the pics, I'd never know they weren't painted on. They look good. Besides, if you do tire of them, and take them off, the only problem I could think of is the paint under them may be in better shape than the rest of the tank.
hk_shooter... are you running a black fender with a blue bike?
It does almost look black don't it? Ikinda wished it was. Black & blue is the 'theme', and for some a lifestyle[8D] Actually it's a Black Cherry that I picked up cheap($40) and wanted to make sure it fit right. I took some pics to see how it looked and, well you saw the result. Trying to get a complete tin set to have painted, without having to tie up the bike. So far, I've got the front fender and tank, just looking for a good deal on a rear fender, maybe even a Bobtail... Now, I've returned to the blue one. But very seriously considering the mod of flipping the mount to make the rear of the fender closer to the ground, suggested by MIKEE(?) on the boards. If I do I'll probably experiment with the Black Cherry one, just in case.
