seems to me just about everybody has a problem with their dealer except me...wonder why that is,,,I can fix a bike, could probably fix his, There just can not be that many bad dealers out there, if there is, why do you ride a harley..and how does anybody expect somebody to figer out his problem over the INTERNET?? but then different strokes for different folks..might bring his post up over 300 maybe??
takes more then $20,000 and a T-Shirt to be a biker, so I heard!!
i think i know the sound you are talking about maybe not.
its when you crack it wide open under a load at a low rpm when you are rolling at a good speed pushing wind and maybe going up hill a little.
thats when mine will do it.they will never find that one so i just forget about it.
if that is it i think it is the top motor mount.it is comming from up there some were.
maybe we needsome thing like thatnew front motor mount that they are putting on the 08 baggers.
1. sorry i havent hit over 300 posts. ive been getting ready to deploy NEXT thursday, not alot of time on here lately. my bad.
2. took it to another dealership and they heard it and are gonna go into more detail. he said it sounded like something was loose. its not in my head.the first dealership didnt help out at all. i definately have the warranty and i try to use it when i can.
3. im just starting out and i dont know much about these bikes. i appreciate any help offered.
i have a 07 street bob with 2,000 miles on it. about 3 weeks ago i noticed a noise that wasnt there before. its gonna be hard to explain, so here it goes.
while im cruisingin any gear and any speed, and i give it some gas i hear a noise. im not just talking about slowly gaining speed, i get on it! the noise kinda sounds like a high pitch squeal/squeak-finger nails on a chalk board type of noise. it isnt a constant noise, just when i give it gas the noise goes along with the engine rumbling.
i know this prob doesnt make any sense, but ive been to the hd shop and they couldnt help.
thanks in advance
i get that same sound except its from the left side of the bike. it happens when i goose it. let me know what you find out please sir.
Mine does the same thing. The second time I heard it, I happened to look down at just the right time, and saw the speedo needle jump and twitch for a second. The sound almost sounds like detonation or spark knock, but only a single, drawn out, higher pitched, louder knock. It drives me nuts, but the dealers don't believe me.
I also get what sounds like a crank knock at low rpm, especially taking off from a stop. only does it when fully warmed up, andis loudest under load. I'm thinking the two sounds might be related. My friend has the same bike I do, and his does'nt make either noise...
Are you talking about a squeaking-squealing noise? On moderate to hard accel? My St. Bob is making a noise also. Rode a Wide Glide at the York open house and it made the same noise! The WG had about 4000 miles on it. My bike started at about 8000 miles. WTF is it???
