Default FAT BOB BAFFLES

Well.....as of today I am the proud new owner of an 08 Fat Bob. Has anybody had the baffles out of their Fat Bob yet? With this being a new design exhaust I am not sure what to expect when I remove the baffles. Is there any fiberglass wrap like what is found on the Screamin Eagle baffles? The bike is way too quiet for my taste...I like the look of the stock exhaust.....just want to make it a little more noticable sound wise.

I saw that they made SE slipons for the exhaust. Would that be easier/less headache than drilling out the baffles?

Yes.....most likely it would be...however.....my brother installed as set of SEs on his fatbob and even after removing the packing from those they are still too subtle.....I figure if the stock mufflers have packing in them I can remove the packing from them and open up the holes a lot cheaper than buying new mufflers.

I'm not a fan of removing baffles.....gives the bike too much of a tinny sound not to mention the lack of back pressure.

How about "re-engineer"?? Or "optimize"?

If you want to replace the mufflers, Rush makes a set of slips ons that sound great and look similar to the stock muffs.

Well......I took the mufflers apart....removed the baffle.....then removed the fiberglass packing.....then re-installed the baffle.....it sounds much better.....not as good as a Rush or Screamin Eagle maybe.....but it sounds MUCH better and it as FREE.....gotta love those tax free moments whenever you can get them. I have had the bike less than 24 hours....I have completed all the modifications I plan to do....just removing all the reflectors, the letter openers off the tank, smoked lenses on the front signals, tail light/turn signal/running light module, added a small fork bag to my swing arm, and I am a happy camper. Thanks for all the input guys.
