I am 5'11"...no way i could ride any distance at all(bad knees and hip)with the mids...like sitting at the dinner table...also had a problem hanging my pants-legs on the mids...almost dropped the bike a few times because of this.....also,I didnt see anything in the original post about handling but i think my bike handles better with me in a more comfortable position.....if someone wants a bike that handles like a crotch rocket...get a damned crotch rocket!!!

My most sincere apologies for the prior post..................... I found my meds, took a double dose, and went to the garage to admire my mids, and realized they are actually forwards.............. My bad.

I have an 08 street bob with mids. I rode 135 miles with no problems but I do intend to get the forward pegs at some point. As far as forward controls my wife's sporty has em and I don't really care for them. I almost changed to the forwards before I brought the bike home.

Glad I didn't have the extra cash at the time.

Admittedly, forwards arent for the 'foot draggers'...anyone who knows how to ride a motorcycle prefers the forwards...the others who drag their feet in parking lots,at traffic lites etc..should stay with mids until they learn how to ride...JMPO...flame on bros...flame on!!!...:&gt

Riders with forwards look like silly azzes goin down the road azz first!first tight corner, thy're wobblin' and slowing way down..look like they just took off the training wheels and now wanna ride wit the big boys. [8D]

Exactly....... Best of both worlds .........Just wish the Dyna forwards weren't so tight (Close) to the frame....

I think you'll love the forward controls. I put the the mid pegs back on for an alternate position on a long haul and added heels rest to the forwards and a larger brake pad.Makes for great comfort on road trip running five to seven hundred miles a day and no problems with control at any speed.

Good Luck

Tom

skip you aint one of those "OB/GYN" position guys are ya?
i often wonder 'bout those guys.....
