I'm with TOMMAY, I had forward controls put on and left the mids in place in order to have a different position to switch to when travelling. The forward controlsfit just fine for me and I only stand 5'9" (on a good day) with a 29" inseam.

I'm 5'7" and I have the forwards on my bike. They are nice to have. I ride my wife's bike without the forwards and it seems a little weard.

I love the role I get to play. I can be the mid-control-a$$hole.

Seriously though, it's not about fit. I'm taller than half you guys who posted, with a 34" inseam. The mids fit. Saying mids don't "fit" is just wronge. Saying they don't fit your riding style would be more accurate.

Sorry to keep harping on this, but if I can get just one person who thought they needed to stick forwards off the showroom floor, to at least try the mids for a month, I've done my job.

In the end it's about what you enjoy, if you don't enjoy the ride with mids, that's fine, but give them a try first. Again, the physics of it are such that if you really throw it around they are better. Soup 48, at 5'7" there is no way the mids are too small... They may just not fit your riding style, or the image you have of what a cruising Harley should look like.

I should have my SB in a couple weeks... shipping takesawhile in Hawaii. I plan to stay with mids initially while installing highway pegs so I can compare the feel.

I am also 5' 7 and have a Bob. I kept the mid controls and added the highway pegs. If you did go with forward controls, I'd suggest keeping the mid-mount pegs for changing posistions on longer trips. Also, when its cold( under 50degrees)the wind doesnt like to creep up your leg like it does with the forward controls. Just my opinion.

High speed wind would blow my right foot off the fwd peg. I like mid mount and floorboards.
I'm a older rider.

I prefer to stay with the mids and highway pegs. There are times when I think I'd like forwards but then I hit some twisties and come to my senses. If you already have highway pegs then I think you should be able to decide which you'd prefer to run with. Probably a good idea to keep the mid position for long rides so you can take some of the pressure off your butt every once and awhile, not to mention posting over rough roads, bumps, etc.
