Have you considered Roof? They are pretty cool and unusual, very popular here in the UK. The face guard and visor flip right over to the back of the helmet when they're open

Those Roofs are pretty cool. I think there's a french company also making jetfighter pilot style helments (will the style trickle across the pond in a year or two?)

Roof are French, if you browse around their website you'll find the fighter pilot style helmets with clip on face guard as well as ones with the visor and guard that flips right round to the back.

Get whatever fits your melon very snug when trying them on.
Aria, Shoei and other top brands and models usually have replacement padding of different thickness. This will help you acheive a custom fit.
I cant wear a Aria or HJC as I have a blockhead(squarish shape). They seem to fit more oval shaped heads.
Don't let price be your guide. Fit and a Snell rating are the most important things for a road helmet.
Looks, venting etc. are a distant second.

Thanks for the input... I went with the Scorpion EXO-200. $129 shipped. Not bad for Snell protection. I'll do a user report once I receive it.

Ride hard... Be safe.

ORIGINAL: Qball

I am seriously looking at the Scorpion. My buddy has the full face, but I feel more comfortable with the 3/4. Link here.

I looked at a Scorpion EXO at a dealer and really liked it but for some reason they don't make a size big enough for my head. Their sizes seemed small anyway.

I've been wearing Simpson helmets for 25 years but after reading the helmet overview in American Rider, (October 2007),I am defnitely going to seek out a Scorpion dealer before next riding season. They have some really innovative ideas like a sunscreen behind the face shield on their new full coverage that you can pull down when riding into the sun.The Simpsons may be safe but I think their innovative thinking goes towardsthepro car racersnot the aging bike pilot. My 3/4 Simpson can lift enough in strong crosswindsto make for a lot of neck strain and I'm sick of that too. I've got one of the new SimpsonOutlaw full coverage ones and it is too hot in the summer and is a bite getting my eyeglasses in and out the front opening. Maybe I'll get a 3/4 Scorpion next spring and get a little more wear out of my expensive Simpson Outlaw and then retire it too.

Love my HJC AC-3. I have a clear and tinted face shields I really like that it easily flips open and closed. I ride with it up on warmer days at slower speeds. It locks down and really cuts down on noise. I feel more protected with it down.
I removed the obnoxious HJC sticker on the front. Also I slipped a couple small headphone speakers into the earpieces and plug them into my iPod.
Ratings, I'm not sure how reliable they are. I can't say enough about this helmet.
PS Went to numerous dealers and stores and looked at dozen of helmets. I suggest you do the same.
