I'm glad I spent some extra timein the last few days checking out my next bike. It was between an 08Super Glide Custom or an 07 Wide Glide. Both of those bikes have some distinct differences and advantages from my perspective. Jumped on a Low Rider and fell in love with it. I'm just over 6 foot and never considered the LR as I thought it was specific for a rider with a shorter inseam. Much to my surprise the bike felt absolutely perfect. I like mid controls, always have felt like I had more controll of the bike that way. I also love the black engine and am partial to slightly narrow bars. The Tach/Spedo in the chrome console on the tank is pretty slick to0.
Just really wondering if anyone else 6'1' or 6'2" feels good on a Low Rider. I nhope I'm not making a mistake here.
I love mine also. I'm 5'9" with a 32" inseam. The fit I guess depends on the length of the legs also. I was like you thinking the bike was only for sub 5'5"ers, but I wanted one with mid controls, because I'm I always had sport bikes before, and there was more chrome on it than the any dyna save for the Wide Glide. I liked the looks of a Wide Glide better but I didn't like the forward controls on it. I didn't even sit on it. One thing to keep in mind is if you want to go long distances on it or carry a wife/girl friend/ SO on it, you may end up customizing it into another Harley Modle. I sorta wish I at least sat on a Heritage Softail Classic, as I have added Saddle Bags, detach Wind Shield, and detach sissy bar. About 2k in accessories that are already on the Soft tail. But I love my bike the best, stripped down to the bare minimum.
I am 5' 11" but found myself on the highway pegs all of the time so I put forward controls on but did leave my mid pegs on so I have somewhere to put my feet on long trips. I do love my LR
