Yes another tire issue. My 03 low rider with the stock HD tires has a nail smack dab in the center of the front tire. No aire leaks. I saw it last evening and can't stop thinking about it at work today.I was hoping to hold off with tires until spring. The bike is new to me so my question may be obvious to most. The service manual is at home so please excuse my ignorance. My questions are,
Are the stock tires tubeless? The rims are not laced.
Pull the nail, plug and get the metzlers in spring?
If they ain't spoked, then yes, it's tubeless.
Different opinions on this, but I wouldn't plug it. I'd have it dismounted and a patch put on it, if I'd do it at all. It's a safety issue, and your own azz.
If your wheels aren't laced, then the tire should be tubeless. I'd never try to repair a hole in a tubeless tire, either by patching or plugging. You can run tubes in tubeless tires, which would be cheaper than a new tire, but I strongly recommend biting the bullet and just buying a new tire.
