Just a thought, but before you ditch the boards, you might want to try mounting highway pegs. I find that the boards let me move my feet around quite a bit, and I can stretch my legs straight out to the pegs if I want. But my main riding position (which is perfect for me- I'm 5'10" BTW) is with my heels on the boards and the ***** of my feet on the highway pegs which is closer to forwards than anything.And even with your feet flat on the boards, I don't think they're as farunder you as with mids.Just something to consider before you start making major changes that don't come cheap. I just happen to have pictures of my feet on the bike- don't ask why, long story...
