I ordered a set today. part number 701-838 for 07Dyna.Did they send you the correct shocks for your 08bob. They sure lookdifferent for the bob then the 07 dyna.

I certainly got the shocks intended for 08 Bob. My feeling is that 08 Bob factory shock mounts are different to 06/07 models. I also believe that Progressive didn't do their homework properly, hence why their shock mounting kit doesn't work.
Please let me know if you have any issues installing your shocks.
I am also currently talking to Progressive to get the problem resolved.

Thebarcode on the box says: 812-4045CDC.
It also has the following : 812,(CHR/DBL/CUT) Harley 11.0"
Have you got your's yet? What type of mounting kit did it come with?

hmmm, does it mean they are not intended for FXDB aka Street Bob?
When selecting the right part, my dealer used this catalogue. (see extract attached).
From what I can see the part number corresponds. However if you are right, than this explains why it doesn't quite fit properly!!!

Well certainly the installation kit that comes with the shock does not fit the bike and not suitable.
I am now waiting for Progressive to finally resolve this issue and supply me with a proper mounting kit or replace the 812HD with may be 412HD or similar.

I'll keep you posted on my progress also. Lets hope Progressive resolves this matter promptly. As frankly I am getting little tired of going back and forth with these guys. Let me know how you go with your install.
