Default SE Heavy Breather install question (newb type)

LOL I gotta start out laughing...

Anyway, so I finally get a 3 day weekend after getting my SE HB, Rineharts and PCIII. I hope to install every thing today and tomorrow (want to take my time). Started with the SE Heavy Breather...here lies in my question.

I got it installed, read the directions first, then started the install...but I never saw anything about the stock wire harness/plug in the directions for the SE HB. Am I missing something? What do I do with the plug? It's just hanging there. BTW, this is on an 08 Fat Bob.

I double checked the part number on the box and it does say 08 softail (boo) and dynas.

Unless yours is different from the 06 regular SE intake, just wrap it up and wire tie it out of the way. I believe that wire/plug controls a flap on bikes built for export and isn't even used on our bikes. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Good Luck and congrats on your new bike.

Tom

I don't know what that harness is for (if its the same one on my '06 Bob), but mine just hangs there too. I installed the SE HB on mine and ignored it, just as I always have. Maybe someone on here knows what it is for, but you need not be concerned with it. AGAIN, I'm speaking of the harness on the '06, the '08 may be different. Good luck with your mods, Bro'...

EDIT: TOMMAY and I were apparently typing at the same time. In any case, you have your answer, so mod on...

Thanks guys...

It just had me concerned because it was plugged into the stock A/C. I just wanted to make sure that when the PCIII was intstalled that the plug is how the PCIII monitored/measured the air intake via ECM.

Just zip-tie it out of the way for European models.

Mine came with a little expanding plug attached so I pushed it into a hole in the back of the base plate, out of the way and it has stayed put. Otherwise, zip tie it.
