I hope the pictures show. I plan to add rack just above the fender and hook to the two up seat screw in the fender as a third attaching point. Wife says to tall but I wanted it taller than most. What are your opinions too much or looks good?
Nice, street2007bob, did you chrome it? Are you going to if it isn't? I would like to make one myself. I like the tall sissy bars. I just need to come up with a design that I like. Not just a straight bar but something that has some pazazz to it. I want to use the holder that I have on the bike and make the bar so that it slips into it.
It turned out nice looking ..... how'd you finally go about designing your bracket? The pics look as though you mounted it on the outside? .....I always thought that would be the easiest.
The truck bedliner paint is an interesting idea. I actually thought about coating the underside of my bike with that, to help with the salt on the street problem. I thought it might look bad, though. We don't get a lot of snow here in DC but they use salt when it does. I rode my bike to work the other day and it was 31 degrees when I left, 42 when I left work for home.
The brackets are on the outside. I wanted to go on the inside but could not seem to get it to work so I went on the outside. In the future after I learn more about working on the bike and feel more comfortable undoing parts and getting them back together right I might remount on the inside or differently.
wow that is tall !!
nice work
I like them tall on a rigid frame choppers but personally don't think they look as good on modern bikes.
The one I am making won't be on the bike very often, only on long 2 up rides or 1 up weekenders to help tie stuff to.
Can you get some close up pics in good light of how it's mounted, be interested to see that.
