Default street bob chirp

my buddy just got a street bob 07. a couple months ago. he is getting frustrated because when he hits the throttle it chirps. he will be joining our forum tonight hopefully but i wanted to get a head start. i've never heard it so i can't really explain it so maybe someone else has had the same problem. thanks, vinny

That's weird. Hopefully he joins and we can get more info on how it chirps. is it while shifting?, heavy throttle? sounds interesting. I have an 07 bob as well and I have never heard anything about it

Iknow what he's talking about. Mine has a barely audible chirp to it also when its idling or whack the throttle quick. I think i'm the only one that notices though cause no one in my group has ever mentioned it and they would surely call me out on it if they heard it.

I'm with mud ... throw some pipes on it and he'll will never notice the chirp ...lol after a year I can't even hear my horn.

I used to get a chirp when I got in or out of the throttle and found that my drive belt needed tightening.

My co-workers boss bike chirped. It had to do with his exhuast. He changed it, and no longer had the problem. Normally a chirp is just caused by something somewhere is lose. I would go through and retighten everything you see.

I also had the chirp and found it to be caused by an improperly tensioned drive belt.

ive heard it on my bike but only when i hammerdown on the throttle real quick. i thought it was coming from the efi. i ve heard something called a throttle response here in the forums before maybe thats it?

i'll tell him about the drive belt, sounds like that could be possible. hey mud, he has big radius' on it and they are loud as f%^# and he can still hear it. i thank you guys for your input. vinny
