Default New stuff

I ordered a detachable back rest for my Fat Bob yesterday - 15% for military at East Coast Harley in Dumfries VA. Also put on the chrome battery cover trim. That's probably all the chrome I'll go with for now, as don't want to take away from the black denim look. Took her out this morning to Front Royal VA and down 30 miles of Skyline Drive back through Warrenton and back into Woodbridge. Was great - longest I've ridden now in one hop, and felt good to be on the road. My PVC pipe GPS mount worked flawlessly and was even able to route the charger cord safely up to the handlebars. As a newbie, I also got to be leader of the pack for about 5 miles when a group of about 20 pulled out behind me.I gave her a couple revs on the throttle for the song's sake.

Just down the road from you in F'burg. If ya ever want to get up for a ride, let me know. I'm always ready to go at a moments notice. Get to Skyline quite often myself. Bought my '07 in February and have made 7 trips to Skyline from F'burg, then over to Richmond and back up to the 'burg.

Shorerider - will do; by the way, is there still a Krispy Kreme in Fredericksburg? As for the ride, I'll let you know next time. I got up this morning about 6, looked outside, checked weather.com, saw it was only 40, suited up and hit the road. 66 was a little cold at first, but once I got to Front Royal, sun up already, and the ride was beautiful. I contemplated getting the $30 annual pass, but last time I did that at a National Park, only went once, so cheaped my way out with the day pass. Up around 3000 feet, there were a few places where springs had run over the road and froze, but at 30-35 miles an hour I had plenty of forewarning, and slowed her down, pulled the clutch in, and let her coast over them around 5 mph. That was only in the shade, other than that I was one of maybe 6 vehicles for the 35 mile part I was on (had to exit at Rte 211, due to construction). I was the only bike out there, but was happy to be only one heading in my direction along the drive, as didn't have to worry about some moron tail'ing me when I went real slow around the turns, especially in the shady spots. Got on 211 for the ride back to Warrenton, 17 down to 28, 28 to Manassas, then 234 on back into Woodbridge. Well, wish I was still out there. Everytime I get back, I look for a reason to squeeze in a few more miles. Oh well, next time. Happy New Year.

Yup, the Krispy Kreme is still here. I'll spring for the 1st cup of coffee and doughnut. Sounds like you had a great ride. I did a 100 yesterday and another 150 today. Much the same as you, saw the sun, went outside, felt great and decided to saddle up. Nothing major, back roads out through Orange, then up to Culpepper and back into the 'burg. Actually, King George, about 8 miles form Colonial Beach, but too many folks say where the hell is King George.

I know the area from the air from the blackhawk -its our maintenance test flight area where I do my in flight checks. Looking forward to getting to know from the ground. I'll take you up on the coffee and donut. Supposed to snow a little tomorrow nite, nothing serious, just a mess for a day or two - hopefully no salt will be thrown down. Weekend forecast is looking promising. Talk with you soon. I'll PM you next time I plan on going out.
