Well wishes from another part of Virginia. Glad your story was inspiring instead of one of tragedy.
I am sitting here in disbelief that you did not end up hospitalized. That simply amazes me. You must be one hell of a guy.
I mean, you actually told a law enforcement official about Snappy. I can't believe he didn't haul your *** off for a major evaluation. Some stories are better off left for family, close friends, and forums.
p.s. I did notice that first thing Snappy did was put on a brace and start complaining about pain in his spine. I can't wait to see the toolbox he is living in by the time he gets a settlement.
Hey guys, THANK YOU ALL!!!for the kind thoughts and prayers. I don't know where to start first, because so much has happened and gone through my mind.
Wheww!! Glad you made it out just bruised Doug!! My little sis was heading home from Quantico (she lives in Manassas) and wrote me an email about an accident involving a motorcycle that she saw, said it made her think about me. I was thankful that she said it looked like the "old-timer" was ok, just pissed! Now I'm TRUELY thankful because it was you!! And talk about good people, look at the guys on the forum!! Where else can almost total strangers offer what they have to you and Snappy? GOTTA LOVE IT!!!
Well, "old timer"............. that was me alright!! Look like I'm 80, funny thing I used to look much younger than I really was.......
What happened????Tell your sis I always look pissed (no, not drunk)......... Keeps da women and kids away.
The forum folks are the cream of the crop!!! The Dyna forum folks are the cream on top of the cream!
It's good to hear that you are doing o.k. and good to hear a good story about the people surrounding the accident. I really question where the country is going sometimes, but it's stories like this that reminds me that there are some really good people out there.
It sucks that you were put in danger and were hurt in the process, but I'm glad that you walked away from the scene intact.
It's always great when a traumatic experience turn out better than expected. Glad you are going to be good to go.
Best wishes for a speedy recover of both you and the bike.
Doug- I am sort of new here and don't know you as some do, but wish you a speedy recovery. I had a suv turn left from the right lane, I was in the left. I got stopped just in time to miss her, cell phone and all. At the next light where she was waiting to turn left, thetruck that was behind me when she cut me off was behind her, tapping her rear bumper with his front. I guess he was just trying to wake her up. There are some good people out there that pay attention, but there are still some that don't. Everyone out there, be aware and ride on!
I am truly sorry it happened and glad you were all right in the end. I'm tremendously impressed by your attitude and demeanor under stress, and later your ability to see the best out of a sh*tty situation - my hats off to you buddy, and a lesson we can all learn from! Thanks for sharing and speedy recovery!
