Dyna Super Glide Custom
I seen my sweet lady in the show room she called my name several times until fathers day 2007 when i mounted her. LOL
I like the look of the bike, light, agial, quick had the big motor in all that as well. and the price was right for me.
As for the WG they are also a nice bike and have little more rake and a good look to them.
Here is one thing to always remember money is a concern to a point. Does you know good to go in and buy a bike and then get it home and wish you would have got the WG and your payment only been $50 bucks more lets say for the argument. Cause you will wish you bought the WG. And **** i waste $50 bucks on pop and **** each week.
When i originally set out to buy a bike i was going low cost and going with a super glide stripped down bare bones. mag rims etc. I knew i wouldn't like that as i love spokes etc and when i saw the superglide custom i knew it was mine payment wasn't much different than a strip down bike etc.
Now i need to get it payed off so i can get started on the next project lol.

Bought my bob used with only 300mi and it already had some of the mods I liked (wide tire, streetslammers, short shots) but if I'd bought new I would've bought the custom. Sweet bikes!
1st Harley and i actually found this particular bike at a BMW dealership with 2k miles and it was 3k less than any Harley dealer wanted for one with more miles and without the 1500 or so in accessories on it.
My 1st choice was a wideglide and it was just not destined to be.
Next bike will be a Road King... turns out that will be the perfect bike for my needs and I never even knew it.(gonna be several years before that happens though).
I do really like the way the bike looks ...but those skinny sportster triple trees.[:-](gone for the 06 and up)

I'm choosing between a Fat Bob or a SGC and it's a war in my head now
Right now it's 90-10 for a Fat Bob.
But i have also found a used 05SGC here in Sweden who is really nice and will be a bit cheaper.
http://www.blocket.se/vi/14646953.htm?ca=11_s<- you can se that bike. Extra equiped for 7.000 USD and would totally be about 9.400 USD cheaper than a new FB with equipment.
Milage is 1485 am. miles.
No easy decision

Started with the idea of buying a Sportser, but the dealer wisely dissuaded me. I'm 6'6".
Then I was thinking of a Softail Custom, but there was this Dyna as well.
It had less rake and a shorter wheelbase, that was good since I would use it a lot in the tight roads of Milano. Went for it and I'm VERY happy of my choice.

A lot of good points in this thread. I went with my gut. It had nothing to do with price even though I think the SGC, expecially the 08 version is the best "value/bang for the buck" in the entire lineup. If I was going to pay what I paid, I would have paid a few thousand more to get what I wanted if it had been something else such as a bagger, WG, or whatever. The WG is a great bike but it just didn't catch my eye like the SGC did. I'm just not a huge fan of the bobbed fender I guess.
Big picture, you can't go wrong if it says Harley-Davidson on the tank and, if it says Dyna on the owner's manual, even better.

Selected mine based not on price, but on handling characteristics, how it fit me, and most of all...because it was like a blank canvas waiting for me to finish how saw fit.....
I like the fact that there is more rubber on the road with the 19" versus the WG 21" wheel.
Thats a lot of weight on a skinny tire. BUT I read somewhere on this forum that a wider 21" tire will be or isavailable now. I like the looks of the 21" wheel, but when I think of my **** I prefer more rubber. The Dyna's are so nimble compared to the touring models ( as they say ) which have even more rubber.I really like the handeling quality of myFXDC. Mid mounts make a big difference too IMO. Step on that peg and she flys a great line.

it was my first bike. i started out looking at sporties but when i saw my baby in the shoe room window it was love at first sight. sit on them. ride them, and make your decision. good luck
I was orginally looking at a St.Bob, but don't like the apes, and I liked the bigger tank and console of the WG, but don't like the raked out front with skinny tyre or that kicked up rear fender...
However, the FXDC was effectively a combination of both, so it was a natural choice, and when I ordered my 07 back in Nov '06 there were very few in the UK, so the rareity of it was nice as well.
I'm still happy with the choice........
