Well this is an old thread but i will reply, lol. This is my first harley, and i demo rode the street bob, wide glide, street glide and road king. I chosed the FXDC because i liked the the looks of it compared to the other Dyna's and I got a great deal on mine!
FXDC the best bang for the buck among big twins. If like chrome that is. Lot's directions you can go as far as personalizing her.
I just took some pics of mine earlier today.
I'm not ashamed to say, I went to the dealer to by a Honda Fury. Z&M cycles in Greensburgh Pa. sells both Harley and Honda. While I was looking at the fury my wife asked me "Why don't you want a Harley?" I told her I would love to have a Harley, but We can't afford one. She talked me into looking at the Harley's. I'm glad she did. I picked up my 2011 FXDC for the same price as the Fury. below are a few pics. of my bike. It is a work in progress, when the work is done, (after xmas), I will take it outside and get some better pics.
Lets get some replies going for 2012! I'll be first.
I went to Ray Price HD in Raleigh NC with a friend (2001) because he begged me to stop so that he could get a T shirt. I saw a yellow FXDX in the window and, long story short, my friend had to drive my truck home because I was on my new Harley! I had never considered buying a bike until that moment. My first road bike.
Two years later I sold it and bought an anniversary 2003 Road King FLHRI. Loved it, but missed my Dyna. Sold it 3 years later to buy an SUV to prepare for second child.
2010 - bought a Kawasaki Concours 1400. Nice bike, sold it, nothing else to say about that one.
Last month a friend finally talked me in to helping her sell her bike that was in storage. She had been bugging me for 6 months to look at it and I kept putting her off. I finally agreed after she got a job in another state and was in a hurry to sell, and needed my help.
It had been in a storage facility for 3 years. Hadn't been ridden in 4. She opened the door and there she was - A yellow pearl 2005 FXDC. Bone stock. It looked like it had been on the showroom floor all it's life. Barely 3000 miles. 1 hour later I had the title.
I'm going to treat this as a sign of what was meant to be. Love it.
