1) I liked the Nightrain , but didn't have money for a softy
2) Sportsters were too damn small.
So i ended up with the fxdc.
Didn't know much about Harleys then, but having a supersport backround the choice turned out to be the BEST possible! I guess the SG and the SB are the best sport-tuned models of the company!

Always thought the FXDC was the best bike for the money but wanted the black powder coat engine. 2010's come out and there it was, with no increase in price. Bought it, love it.

Drove a Triumph Speedtriple for 14 years and was quite happy with that. Moved back to Norway where you have a 60 mile speedlimit...you need to drive at least 65 miles with the Triple to be comfortable...

Weight my options, test drove, did research, japanese bike was never an option,....ended up with the 2009 FXDC and never looked back......it's the smoothest ride I've ever owned....winter mods ongoing.

I like 'em because everyone thinks you're riding a sportster.

It's great to hear the 'I had a sportster once stories'. When you fire it up and roll away you can see their head spin around, knowing it's not a sportster, and utter confusion on what you're riding insues. They know it's a Harley, just not sure which one. Hehe.

May sound strange, but to me the Custom is what a Harley should be. Most of MOCO's bikes are all variations on themes. I owned a Heritage, Street Glide and Road Glide and each one seemed to be trying to be something it wasn't.

The custom is just a great standard motorcycle, not a long wheel based cruiser, that a person of any size, sex, or age can enjoyably ride, and mod to make it his/her own. No parts bin gimmicks here, just Harley's best at a great price. dd50

+3 on the bobtail fender. I like the rake on the superglide just fine. Don't need the additional.

They can keep their Wide Glides and all those Bob's.
Love everything about my FXDC.
