I have a 2005 Dyna Super Glide. I'm considering adding the front brake caliper kit to make it a dual front. Has anybody else done this? and if so how much did it improve braking ability?
It will improve braking ability, but you can do better. PM makes a 6 piston caliper and a floating rotor that is alleged to give you more braking power then the stock dual system, and won't require you to buy another lower leg to attach the caliper (right side) to.
As well, you'll notice a difference in braking alone by swapping out your rubber hose for a stainless brake hose. The stainless hose resists expansion under hard braking and sends more usable force/energy to the caliper.

John, if you can live with your brakes a little while longer, I am going to do a tech article on this very subject. It is a how-to.
[ul][*]I know you can put another lower on your bike to add your second rotor. My article will be based around the new Brembo calipers and converting them.[*]I do not sell this stuff but it will be an article on how and what to look for.[*]I own a 05 Lowrider for a test mule.[*]I do think these new FL/V-Rod Bremboâs will give a good bang for your buck..[*]You should look at either e-Bay or other sources.[*]If chrome is in your plans, you can always bring them to a chrome shop and DIY, far cheaper than the HD version. [*]I bought Bremboâs to do this, as I never use this type of caliper on my own bikes. It would make for an inexpensive good performance upgrade, however.[/ul]I am talking about this brake. List price from Harley for the following
[ul][*](Left) $176.95 P/N #: 43027-08,[*](Right) $179.95 P/N #: 44023-08,[*](Rear) $176.95, P/N #: 43027-08 plus[*](Rear) bracket that a spacer must be made & the axle hole bored out to 1â (in the case of 00-07 FLâs) $37.95 P/N #: 44089-08.[*]The chrome fronts costs $499.95 each. Way too high.[*]This article will be for educational purposes only.[/ul]

+1 especially if you have a nice front wheel you want to show.
sharkey, The New Red compound is made for your MMC rotors and stop way better than anything else. Wear out your old Z pads (I guess you use Z but I use golds) than buy the Red. Better all around performance for your MMC rotors only. Will not work on stainless or other, just yours. You can call me if you like toll free. Paul hade em' made and developed for Atlantic series in Barcelona, Spain. Just when you thought you were done....now this! If you are going to Daytona, look me up. Be by the track, outside.
