FUEL GAUGE HELP!!
BREAKING DOWN THE BOB FOR NEW PAINT. GOT THE TANK OFF , CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE FUEL GAUGE WIRES OUT OF THE CONNECTOR SO I CAN PULL THE GAUGE OUT OF THE TANK, LOOKS LIKE YOU FOLD BACK THE RETAINER ON THE PLUG TO EXPOSE THE WIRES AS THEY FIT INTO CONNECTOR, DONT WANT TO PULL TO HARD OR?? ANY ADVISE OR TIPS WOULD BE VERY HELPFULL, THANKS.

Ya you got the right idea but then you will need a safety pin or similar size tool to insert in the hole on the connector to release the metal tang that is hoding each wire, they won't pull out otherwise. I know Mud posted some really percise pics on how to do it if you do some searchin or if i find it I will come back and post it. The manual also shows the how to for this. Mojo

I couldn't find Muds pics yet but here is a link that i replied to quite some time ago with some pics that may help? You will see there are alot of folks that just cut them but the connector is really easy once you figure it out. Follow the link down to where i posted and you should see the pics.
