It took 12 weeks to get mine. That sucked but after I got it i have been real happy with the results. Nice quality sound and the performance is good as anything out there.
I ordered the 1 ¾” slash cut B style with heat shields. I was tempted to order the 2”, but from what I read, the 1 ¾” will create better torque down low. I have the D&D FatCat on my bike now and the dyno curve is very steep. I am looking to create more usable power down low and I am willing to sacrifice some torque and power on the top to do so. I’ve read all the horror stories about their customer service and lead time for the pipes. I can’t ride until April around here anyway, so I thought I would give it a go. I actually spoke to Bob on the phone for quite some time before ordering the pipes. He didn’t make any promises about performance. He was basically a no thrills guy and really believes that he builds the best pipes available for our machines. Once I eventually get the pipes, I will post the dyno results.
sounds good, you mentioned you got large cams on yer ride, what ya runnin?
what all ya got on there anyhoo?
Im curious too!
I just swithed to the Fat cat and I like the low end power curve that I have now.
If you cams are very heavy on overlap and duration no exhaust switch would help.
I had the Rinehart 2 to 1 on last week, its 1 7/8 primarys killed all my low end power.
I just came in from a 12 mile ride with the D&D and I had a lot more usable power on the low and mid range.
I think with a couple of small carb adjustments it will be a great pipe.
I am afraid you are correct mentor…I doubt the exhaust is going to make a huge difference, but I am hoping. I’ll swap out the cams if I have too.

Oddly enough the bike showed a nice dyno curve with the Vance and Hines Straight shots. It made better power with the D&D pipe but lost the low end. I am hoping the LSR pipe is a compromise and ends up somewhere in the middle.
I should mention that I did not build the motor. The work was all ready done when I bought it from a friend of a friend so I don’t have all the details. I am still waiting on the build sheet.

From what I can gather from Woods, the TW 9 cam is the only one with .630 lift. this is a stout cam, but Bob told me to get the best results with it I would have to change the primary gearing to 3.37 and then it would have "explosive" aceleration!
I think if It were me in this situation, I would leave the pipes alone and try to get the Woods T 6 cam or the Head-Quarters .575 cams, they both come on around 2200 to 2500 rpm and just slam you *** in the seat. They are some great all-around ridding cams that have gobbs of usable low and mid range power, and will pull to redline.
R&R has a .525 cam that is kinda new, but I heard its stump puller to. Andrews also has a #54 grind I think, but I have found nothing on the specs on there sight, so Ill call it "mystic" for now.
