Since we've got two different threads going about putting a 21" on a Dyna I'd like to see what it would take to get a 16" on a Street bob front end.To me it's just not a real bobber without a big fat front tire.I know this has been done already but it might be a bit easier now that the Fat bob comes with a 16" maybe a Fat Bob front wheel would just bolt right up.
The Fat Bob's have a 25 mm front axle, so the bearings in the wheels are different. For the sake of comparison, the Street Bob's 1" axle converts to 25.4 mm.
And the Fat Bob has a wide glide front end (and dual brakes), so that may create other issues as far as spacers, etc.
I'm with you in wishing HD had a bit more standardization so we could swap parts more easily, but you've been on the forum enough to know that anything can be done with a little creativity.
I think your bike would look mean with a pair of fat 16"ers on it.
I ahve done the same style relace to Honda CB rear hubs to 16in harley rims so i could run a bigger tire.... it should work ed... simple yet effective idea fast harley!
I just made a front end including trees, made a set of wheels, made the calipers fit the front end (changed to radial mounted), changed the rotors to 320 mm & made the carriers fit a Harley, than made the fender mounts. I am lazy as I do not like dirt in my eyes. I use to do that in 1975. Not anymore. I put a pair of 880 17" X 140's all of the way around. I did it for the handeling only and not for the looks. Does this count?
