2006 dyna
This may sound strange but it solved two problems. The bike was pulling to the right from new (DXDI35) with the cluncking sound. The dealer found nothing wrong after two visits, in the end I was so pissed I insisted the problem be fixed. It was discovered that the right fork was about 6mm proud of the top brace as compared to the left, this was rectified. Still pulling to the right, not as much but noticable and still with the clunck whilst applying front brake. I put a thread on this forum and all my probs were fixed.
Answer: Undo the front guard so it is loose and work the suspension and stearing. Have someone sit on the bike to keep it upright and level and reposition the guard and tighten so all is in line again. You would not beleive it....no more cluncks and no more pulling to the right. You have only to use your imagination to see that the gaurd was pulling on one side of the forks and puting undue pressure on other parts. My sincere thanks to all that helped me on this one.....you would think the tool guy at the stealer would have picked up on this.
At the end of the day it is only four bolts on the guard......try it...who knows, could be an easy fix for you.
PS What a great ride the Dyna is now...
Cheers
Kevin
2. Did you remap? Power Comander
3. How do you like the 6 speed? A big improvement
4. How is the new clutch? This is the way a clutch has to be
5. How does your passenger (if you carry one) like the swingarm mounted pegs? No problem
6. Any other general observations comparing it to older dynas or other HD's. I've had a Dyna Sport - the 06er Dyna is in every point the better bike. The new frame and works work so much better!
Is my Bob smooth? No, it is pure Harley.
Teppo
Just installed the V&H Big Shots
Doherty Power pack air cleaner
Screaming Eagle Race Tuner.
Clutch is nice,Easy pull with a great feel
Tranny, compared to the 5 speed on the FXR...I like the 5 better
I too have the click in the front end. When I take it in Il have it looked at.
Love the bike alot.
I did keep my 84 FXR though.Tough to get rid of an old friend.

3. How do you like the 6 speed? I love the 6 speed,... Smooth as silk
4. How is the new clutch? Very little clutch effort,....It's great
5. How does your passenger (if you carry one) like the swingarm mounted pegs? I still have the factory solo seat,.Dont know.
6. Any other general observations comparing it to older dynas or other ? The factory solo seat on the Superglide SUCKS,... I did my first longer ride on the bike, "appx 1 hour", and my *** was draggin'"
Overall the Dyna is a great bike,....just do your A$$ a favor and replace that seat.
John
an old girl friend called it the "cow"...lol.. So when I took the new one for a test ride.... WOW... what difference.... night and day... Would I take the old one back..? In a heart beat... it's worth big $$$ now... but to go back to the old handling, ride and reliabilty...No Thanks.....[sm=biker2.gif]
1. pipes-SE tapers, SE AC
2. HD remap
3. Tranny-love the six speed. It loves the interstate. I use sixth only over 65 mph. 45+ mpg.
4. Clutch-good
5. Passenger pegs are not an issue.
6. Only HD I had to compare with was a sportster, no compairson.
My front brake clicks when I apply pressure. I believe it is just the floating disc reacting to the force being applied.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
It's a balancing act for Milwalkee. Keeping the essential harley elements intact while refining certain parts of the bike. I like the direction and look forward to the future.
