Default Part number request

Any one know the part number for a 06 FXDWG front fork sliders? Looking to have mine powder coated but didn't want to be out of action while they were being done. Figured I might find some takeoffs on ebay.

Part number for chrome lower sliders for 06 and up FXDWG is 46589-96A. I don't have anything in my P&A catalog for OEM replacements though.

Try calling your local dealer to get the part number, it should be easy for them to look it up. Get a set off E-bay, get them powdercoated and keep riding with the stock sliders on until the coloring is finished. Then look at the color matching on the E-bay sliders. If it is way off or not what you wanted, sell the colored sliders and you won't lose any riding time.

Not to be a smart ***, but this is where a parts book for your year and model come in handy.

To those having parts powdercoated. I have read several threads about threaded and precision hole(triple trees, etc) having to clean out excess coating(breaking taps, screwing up mating surfaces). This can be avoided by either taking it to an experieced Motor cycle coater or being very clear which surfaces/holes must be masked off. Powder coat is real tough stuff and will gum up a tap in a minute. Scraping on things like the fork mounting holes can gouge and tear up what should be a precise surface.
Motor, trans and control mounts, if not masked, do need to be taken down to bare metal. Pcoat is real slick and you don't want those elements slipping around on you. The key is "METAL TO METAL CONTACT" whether its Pcoated, paintedor Bondoed! Good Luck to all!
