Dyna Electrical Panel
I'm in the final stages of installing a Garmin Zumo 550 on my FXDBI and have a question about the electrical wiring.
I'm planning on using an Add-a-Fuse to tap power and need to identify a connection for the ground. Based on the location and the wiring connections, I'm thinking of using the bolt that attaches the dyna electrical panel to the bike (red arrow in attached pic). Can anyone think of any reason that this would be a poor choice?
On a different note, does anyone know what the deutsch connection is for (white arrow in attached pic).

For diagnostics, and SERT connection.

Thanks mud. Any thoughts on using that bolt as a ground for my GPS?

Most reliable is the neg batt terminal.
Anywhere will work.
There is a goodspot on the top triple tree.
Note the jumper from the risers to that spot.
I think I'm reading into your question
that the supplied wiring with your GPS
lends itself to usethat bolt you ask about.
For convenience.
A ground is a ground.

I thought it was usable, but it never hurts to ask.
Yeah, the wiring that comes with the Garmin GPS has the pos and neg neatly bundled in a larger cable. Garmin advises not shortening that cable, probably their way of reducing liability for the stupidity of the installer. Without additional wiring, the bolt for the electrical panel is the only one that is reachable.
