Ok...dip **** question. I'm assembling my forks after having them powder coated.....all done. Now I need to fill them up with oil. Do I just need to dump the perscribed amount of oil down the tubes then TRY to get the top tube bolt threaded?...or am I missing something?...and is there a trick to getting thetop tube bolts in since Ineed to compres the springs? Thanks
I think you should have a drain/fill plug on the bottom (where it curves around the axle) and there after the springs are compressed you put in the prediscribed amount of oil................I would think

When I changed my fork oil, I released the pressure on the front forks. A bike jack or 2 I-bolts in the ceiling with ratchet straps... That should release the pressure enough for ya. Then I dumped in the prescribed amount of fork oil. I went with Bel-Ray 15w fork oil found at my local metric store.
It an 07 SG....So..I put the amount of oil in that they perscide them pump the forks up and down after I take it off the lift...then take the caps off again and measure after I put it back on the lift??...and I fill it from the top?
