Has anyone else had problems your bike "hard shifting"? Whenever I gear down, sometimes there's a loud CLUNK! (07 SB)
suggestions, input?
thanks guys
That only happens for me going form first to second. But I like it. When I hear the thunk I know I'm in first. I think you should onlybe concerned if you notice it causeing operational issues or safety issues.
If you think something is bad wrong take it to your dealer if you want thepeace of mind, but, I guarante all your going to get is "thats normal" ! I don't think I've every owned any make (and I've had a few) bike that didn't Clunk going to first.

It's the nature of the beast! You gotta figure they've beefed up the tranny's quite a bit in the last couple of years. But, make yourself feel better and talk to your dealer.
Go get yourself some Redline Shockproof Heavy gear oil from Summit Racing or myoilshop.com and it will quiet that trans down a lot. Check it out at www.redlineoil.com
If you want to reduce the "clunk" try slowing down more before down shifting .. anyway "clunk" is considered normal but should not be "hard to "downshift" this could be a problem, first check your trans fluid. I had a bike once that became hard to downship on very hot days.
