Default Weights on a spoke wheel on 05 Dyna

I bought a static wheel balancer to do my own balancing after having my rim relaced. After getting it all back together it seems like I need about an 1 1/2 oz to balance it.I'm wondering if that is too much weight but Ihave seen some spoke rims with at least 3 big spoke weights on them.My 05 Superglide has a Wideglide front end with a spoke 21" rim.Any thoughts,Thanks

It seems a bit excessive to my. Have you tried rotating your tire on the rim 90/180/270 degrees to see if the balance improves, that way you wont have to put so much weight in one spot. Just an option.

I'd do the rotation thing if it were a radial but with a tube its a big pain to dismount the tire remove the tube and do it all again. That is one reason I'm trying to see what amount of weight others have on their tubed tires. Thanks for the idea

I have had my spokes powder coated and did not want this type of weight, so when mine were balanced the first time, it showed that I needed 2 oz of weight, they just rotated the tire and it went down only to 1.5oz, which they put on as gthe stick on weights. I asked them at what point do they not use the weights and rotate the tires and they said that 2 0z is right on the line, so 1.5oz should be ok. Before I powder coated my spokes I had the spoke weights and I had 3 large ones on the spokes next to each other, = 1.5oz. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help.I thought it was Ok but its good to know what the limits are on something like this.Next time I'll see where the heavy part of the rim+rotor+tube is and mount the light spot of the tire to it.I might get by with very little weight then.
