Default Dyno Do-Over

After having expressed my disappointment with the results of my Dyno tune last Friday, the service manager at the local stealer has offered to tweak it. I am somewhat skeptical of doing that, but since I paid them $300, I may as well. I don't understand if it was supposedly done correctly the first time, what can/will be done differently the next time or do I not perceive the process correctly?

How many of you guyz had to take your ride BACK for more adjustments after a Dyno tune?

Also, I informed the service manager that I am unable to open the map they gave me with my SERT software. It turns out, and I find this very STOOPID on the part of H-D, that the LATEST version of the SERT software is incompatible with the PREVIOUS version. As one who works in I.T., I can tell you that is just absurd.

Was everyone else of aware of this or am I the last to know?

This whole Dyno clusterf~ck is becoming more trouble than it is worth...

Glad I got a PCIII. A harley service/performance tech at a major dealer in my area tried to tell me the SERT was his choice of fuel mgmt over the PCIII a couple weeks ago, although he said he'd work with my powercommander if I wanted to keep it. I don't know what's B.S. and what isn't when I deal with dealership service guys. It's a gamble and I'm skeptical by nature.

I don't know if you posted your dyno numbers previously in another thread but if you could add them to this one that would be good info.

That sucks if true - I'm gonna have to look into that!

Good luck with the redo!

I'd take it back if I weren't happy with the way it was running period. Also if your SERT software isn't compatable how the hell did they tune it? Doesn't make sense maybe I missed something. And those numbers don't look right not trying to brag but my 06 TC88 is making better numbers than that.

Sounds like a windows application. Just like Vista doesn't like XP.

Ride Safe.

What happened is they have the latest version of the tuner software (I only brought them my interface module and they used their own software). They gave ma copy of the map they created (MT6) but I am unable to open it using my version 4.6 tuner software because it is incompatible (apparently), with the MT6 files created by the newer version. It sounds almost too ridiculous to be true...

sob, are you getting error messages that look like the images below??

If so, I may be able to help you out with the .MT6.

Yes, Mud, that is it exactly (the first one). What's the fix? Can't imagine there is no backward compatibility...

The general consensus here is that if I am unhappy, take it back. I have an appointment for Friday morning to do just that. HOWEVER: I'm not sure what is the point. I mean, what can they do that they haven't already done? Try a bunch of hit-or-miss settings and have me keep coming back until its right? I thought the whole purpose of a Dyno tune was to MAKE IT RIGHT so there is no further tinkering. Am I way off in my thinking here? How many of you had to take yours back and what did they do? I'm tempted to put the old canned map back in it and call the whole event a $300 loss. In fact, if it isn't 'fixed' on this next visit, that's exactly what I am going to do.
