There are a lot of shortie helmet manufacturers. Best advice I can give is to find a dealer who stocks a line you're interested in and try a couple on for fit. A good looking helmet is worthless if it does not fit right, it could be dangerous at the one time that you just might need it to save your head. I tried several on, settled on a half lid made by Vega. It fit my head properly and looks pretty good to boot. Carbonfiber helmets may be a little smaller and lighter than a fiberglass.

I have a dot approve half helmate by NXT. You can get it in JP Cyles catalog on page 87. it's the thinnest dot skull cap Ive been able to find and i love it. you measure your head w/ a tape measure fo the size and its pretty accurate. If your on the border between two sizes, go with the smaller one. it needs to fit tight, but it will break in... also if its a liitle big, at hight speeds it it will try and pull of your head. my buddy bought one and it was too big and that happened so he bought the smaller one it its good. Hope this helps
