I want to install some 4" risers to move the handlebars back on my 2005 FXDI so I don't have too lean forward as much. Does any one know if the stock 2005 FXDI handlebar wire length, brake line and clutch cable will reach, or will I need longer ones?
Thanx!
You wont have any problems with 4 inch risers. A lot of us have them to get that "comfort zone".
I tried 6 and a half inch pull backs this weekend, and I think thats the limitations of the stock cables.
Unfortunately, they didnt feel all that good, so I put the 4's back on, and put spotlights on instead.
you can make your own risers as well for like 5 bucks! check out the $50 mod thread... i have had them on pretty much every bike i have rode... till i got my new risers from loner
Yo Aron, what did you do with the stock speedo and bracket on the top of the riser clamps? (I can't really tell from your picture.) Was there enough wiring length and you just moved the speedo/bracket to top of the risers? What about the angle for reading the speedo afterwards? I forgot to mention the 4" risers I bought also have a 1.5" set back.

Hey man I used to have that setup and to lower the speedo I just used some cable clamps on the risers as a speedo mount so it wasn't sticking up so high and to lower the angle. I'm out of town until next week or I'd post a pic for you.
You should be able to get some slack out of the wires in the harness, and I just had to bend the brake line a bit.
