My Python's with the "quiet" baffles sound a bit harsher than that. I'll let you know how they sound in tandem with the Thunder Baffles after I get them in this weekend.
Drill a 5/8" hole in the closed/inside end of the quiet baffle...Mine are friggin' perfect! Sound way better than the "stock" baffles, IMO...Install is easy - just don't plan on removing them quickly, as the fiber glass expands and gets stuck in there...
I did something a little different.I opened up the small holes 2 drill sizes bigger. I then wrapped them tightlywith thin sheet fiberglass, the kind that body shops use to repair f'glass bodies. p.s-if you want just a little more quiet and more bottom end power than stock baffles, try khromewerks drag pipe baffles.
I want to quieten down my Shortshots even though they are fitted with the quiet bafles. Would the Khromekerks drag baffles help, are they fitted with or instead of the quiet baffles?
they are loder than the qb's.i don't think you can use botg.
Yes, I got them in. They are much deeper than stock. Don't know if I'm quite sold on them yet. SOmetimes, I like to be a bit obnoxious on the bike.
Give 'em some miles to "break-in" -- took a few hundred miles to get sorta "obnoxious" in a good way IMO, and then they really livened up after I got the bike dyno'd. Think the tuner must've blown out all the fiberglass in the runs up to max rpm!

Same thing here... exactly. The dyno tune was a week ago.
you taped them with packing tape? you mean to make tehm fit tighter in the pipe? i like mine but they were shipped without the 'glass pack' wrap so i'm trying to get the dealer to get the parts.

It's not to make them fit tighter, but to make them install easier. There are about 4 strips of tape holding down the fiberglass, but the ends and in between sticks up enough to make it bulge when installing, and gets to be a pain. I did the same thing, based on reading some of the issues here. Installed them then with no issues.
