OK, Ghost Bracket seems to be out of the picture, but we added Barebacks from Cyclevisions.
Easybracket has always seem to be a favorite, but I'd still like to know more about the other two in the running.
Do the Barebacks or Bubbas lock? That is a feature neither advertise, nor do they show pictures of the brackets themselves mounted or unmounted. Not sure what they are trying to hide?
Thanks for the opinions so far, all are appreciated.
Went with the EZ Brackets. Simple install & have little or no rattle when empty. Actually like the separation for adding bags when touring. Have Leatherneck Jim's bags.
I have Willie & Max bags on Easy Brackets and they are much closer than draping them over the chrome supports I had before plus they lock to the bike. I don't notice any rattling. Loud pipes! I have the Easy Brackets mounted in addition to a H-D detachable back rest.
After a very long search and a lot of discussion with many people, I went with the bare backs.
I found a pair of brand new in box Harley stock leather bags with hard plastic backs on Ebay (part # 79078-02) and the nice thing about the bare backs is they have no real bracket like the ghost or the easy brackets. Half of the bare back (female end) just bolts on to the bags, the bags have a metal reinforcement, and the other half (male end) replace the bolts holding the fender to the strut.
They remove in seconds and all they leave benind is the male end of the coupling which covers with a nice chrome cap. I just got them and don't actually have them on the bike yet and since we are in the middle of getting at least 6" of snow today in Minneapolis, I don't see me getting outside to work on them today.
