Default is it worth it???

I have been looking at getting some renegade nightmares for my low rider. After pricing out everything I am wondering if it is worth $800 to have the matching chromepulley and rotors. What do you guys think?I don't want to do it half @$$ but $800 is a lot of cash.

why not try polishing up your stock rotors first... it is free and takes about 1/2 hour per rotor... then just toss on a chrome pully cover... about 1/8 of the cost and looks great! if you dont like it then you can spend the big $$$. i am thrifty (another word for cheap) just got done polishing up my brothers and they shine like no other! i posted a how to in the 50 mod thread... if you are intrested i can write it up again here... came out great! just takes a bit of elbow grease! if ya have a drill it is CRAZY easy!

That is a good idea! I am planning to polish my forks to give them a nice shine as soon as the weather gets better.

Here are pics of the wheel, pulley, and rotors. They do look really good and will give my bike a custom look. For as much pulley and rotor that you can see(rear especially), it does not seem worth $800.

opinions?

Agree 100%....Trying a cheaper alternative that provides the same look is not called half-assed, it's called smart ! But if you are bond and determined to have the best, then I guess $800. would be a fair price....

Do you need to take the wheels off to polish the rotors?

It sure is easier, since you do the bulk of the polishing with sandpaper on a sander. I wouldn't even attempt it with the wheels on the bike or even the rotors on the wheels.

TAKE THE WHEEL OFF!!! i could not imagine doing it with the wheel on! NO... how would you get around the forks and the caliper? what about the other side? take it off. it is real simple and takes about 1/2 hour per side once you get the hang of it... i say do it... i am just amazed how awesome it is... if i did not powdercoat mine black they would be polished for sure!
