I have 2007 Custom and i found old SE II pipes to get acceptable rumble. Now I bought Big City Thunder baffles (USD 120) , removed the old ones and changed them in 10 minutes. WOW factor found!!! They are a bit louder but at the same time the sound is lower. I have SERT and SE air cleaner installed also. I think I have to avoid officials though ;-)
i just ordered the s n s performence slip on.....mostly cus i like the looks of 'em........i've always been partial to the slash cuts. where i ordered them i was told they would be a bit louder the the vh straitshots, not that it matters really, but i am curious...anyone have them? they don't seem to be very popular.
I still love the sound of my stock pipes............. well, completely gutted with 2" lollipops, and they are tuneable[8D]

Doug:
Thanks for PM and tips .... I just got around to drilling my stock mufflers with a 7/8" hole saw I had. I had to get an extension for my drill.
On the rear muffler, I was able to cut a hole all the way through so you can see through it. I was able to cut a plug out of the forward muffler, but you can't see through it like the rear one--there's some baffle material that's really hard to cut through with the hole saw. It just cuts a round grove (the depth of the hole saw) around the insulation material.
I went ahead and put them back on and it sounds much better. I figure that even if there is an uneven 'load' on the fore and aft cylinders the crossover tube will allow the forward cylinder to vent to the rear muffler, so no problem ... am I missing something here? What gives?
