The black frisbee gasket will work fine, just go easy when filling your primary. I know my '06 will not hold a full 32 oz. 27-28 oz. is about the most I can squeeze into mine. If you overfill it, you might have some clutch slippage. On mine there is a little finger shaped indent on the bottom of the opening, and I just fill it til the fluid just starts to come up into there (about 1/2" bottom of the opening). This is with the bike on the jiffy stand. It's pretty easy really, just take your time, and don't over torque the derby cover bolts!
BTW, I spent a loooong year up in Minot from '94-'95. That was my first assignment in the AF. 23d Bomb Squadron. I volunteered for a remote to Korea to get out of there early. Sending a Louisiana boy up there for a first tour, someone at the personnel center had a sick sense of humor. I didn't find it that funny. Anyway. Why not Minot!

Thank you to ALL! As ALWAYS this place and you ALL, kick ***! I know it might not seem like a big deal to many of you, but that was a life saver to me... I would have been lost, and looking like a jack *** going into the dealer asking this crap, while my bike sat, torn apart, in the driveway/garage.

Minot can suck, but it is a good place to raise my little girl. Been here 5 yearsin the 5 MXS working on, not inspectingthe BUFFs. Too bad they didn't send ya to Barksdale, huh!

Yeah, I went to school at La Tech, which is in Ruston, about 1 hour east of Bossier City. We spent a lot of time out at Barksdale. That's a nice base. I hear you about Minot being a good place for the kids. Unfortunately I was single at the time, and as they say, there was a woman behind every tree. I actually met some great folks up there and we made the most of it. I had a good time and it was a quite an experience. I just can't take the cold. I HATE cold weather! Negative 30s and 40s just ain't right! A buddy of mine was an ammo guy up there. I think they belonged to 5 MXS?
