i would check with the state you live in. some states say they stay.if not take em off if that is what you want to do.

Common sense says leave them on, it's one extra step towards being seen.

That being said, I took mine off about a week after bringing the bike home.

IMO, they are an eyesore on the bike, but there are other ways to have reflectors if you choose that route. They make reflective tape in many colors including black which turns white reflective at night (for the frame), which might make it legal in those states that you need it to pass inspection. I have also seen transparent reflective tape somewhere.

Just saying, there are options...

N.C. does not require them. Mine are coming off soon. You can always put them back if needed. JMO.

The only reason I can think of to leave them on is if you regularly leave your bike parked somewhere that if not seen from the side it would run the risk of getting run into, like some apartment complex parking. If your bike lives in a garage with your tools, I'd pull the reflectors off.

I had to talk myself into taking them off - but glad I did. If you ride a LOT at night, maybe leave them on. I rarely do. Chances are if they don't see you, they aren't going to notice the reflectors either.

I removed mine and I'm not worried about night riding safety. I'm convinced that motorcycle safety is based on how you ride, not how many reflectors your ride has on it.

I left mine on simply because I don't lose anything by doing so though I will admit that it does seem like they wouldn't help very much. I know I don't really notice reflectors on other bikes either.

in my state, front and rear reflectors on both sides are required to pass inspection. something ive been considering doing is getting some of that reflective tape, and just putting it on the outward side of the front signals, so i could clean up the forks
