$20 Bike Lift

I saw this and thought it was a pretty good and cheap idea to try. Anyone out there experimented with this yet? Sounded like a good rainy day project.

I was going to build one of those, but couldn't find the proper thickness of wood without an expensive special order. Sure there are other ways to get the right thickness, but I'm not much of an innovator, and needed to lift my bike right away so went with sears yellow + harbor freight cycle dolly.

Built one about a year ago, works great! Found the lumber in a local saw mill, $5.00 for 4x8 peace of pine.

Did you put carpet on it to keep the scratches down? All in all seems like a good set up. I guess I will find out soon. If not I guess I won't be out too much. Can always use another wheel chock for the trailer!

I got mine made out of steel for about 40 bucks.

Made mine out of two 2X8s and 3" screws holding it together, works great. One word of advice, when its not in use make sure its WAY away from the bike. I bumped mine right after takeing out from under the bike and caught the metal handle just before it dinged the tank. WHEEEWWWWWW!!!!!
